Abstract

This experimental study focuses on rice bran blends with different proportions, followed by RB90D10 + 30 ppm TiO2, RB80D20 + 30 ppm TiO2, RB70D30 + 30 ppm TiO2, RB50D50 + 30 ppm TiO2, and Diesel. All the experiments are conducted in a single-cylinder diesel engine to measure performance, combustion, and emission characteristics. The engine brake thermal efficiency is good for the RB70D30 + 30 ppm TiO₂ blend, at 37%, which is greater than the diesel brake thermal efficiency, and the least specific fuel consumption is observed for the RB70D30 + 30 ppm TiO₂ blend, at 0.22 kg/kWh. The inline cylinder pressures are good for the blend RB50D50 + 30 ppm TiO₂, followed by 69 bar. The maximum HRR is attained for the blend RB50D50 + 30 ppm TiO₂, followed by 59 kJ/°CA. The blend RB80D20+30 ppm TiO2 shows the lowest CO emissions, followed by 0.034% CO2 and 0.034% NOx emissions; CO2 and NOx emissions are lower for Diesel at 10.5% and 910 ppm, respectively. HC and Smoke opacity are lower for RB50D50+30 ppm TiO2, followed by 22 ppm and 50 ppm, respectively. Thus, by promoting greener and bio-friendly fuels for vehicles and SDG 9 with the creation of cutting-edge nano fuel solutions for high-efficiency engine designs, our investigation directly contributes to achieving the Innovative nano fuel solutions for vehicles with high performance.
